Compatibility of Weblogs and ISSN

Compatibility of weblogs and ISSNis an article that hits it home. ISSN numbers are much like the ISBN that is used for books. ISSN is for periodicals, and his blog has had one for a year or so (see it up there at the top?). Many other blogs such as Zeldman have had them much longer.
Apparently though, the people that take care of the ISSN numbers in the US (ISSN is a multi-national deal) have been denying weblogs a number for various reasons.
Personally, I think they're afraid they may run out of numbers.
