I had a son, and the daughter that I had been raising for 6 years, became mine.

I married Emily’s mother in 1998, and Emily had always been a daughter to me, but February 13, 2002 I legally adopted her as my real daughter.

Last night my daughter wrote me something wonderful.

A Daddy was Born
Mom said the time was near…
and you would soon be mine.

Then on February 13 2000 a daddy was born.

To sit up.. at night and wait for me to come home safely from a date.

Crawl… out of bed to drive me to schoool

Cruise… beside me as I learn to drive

Walk… me down the isle

Run… to see your first grandchild born.

But first my daddy was born.

That should be enough to make anyone cry.
